Local collaboration for clean water 

We can accomplish so much good in the world when we work together. 

Last month Water for Life Charity met with corporate donor Storm Water Pros and water project distribution partner ROAM Humanitarian to celebrate their partnership. 

Water for Life Charity is providing a well for ROAM’s Education Center and Orphanage in Tanzania. After several months of collaborating together on this project, Storm Water Pros donated $8,000 toward the Tanzania well and water system which will provide clean, safe water to this village and the families who live there.

Building an ecosystem for collaboration

Collaboration and partnership is a large part of Water for Life Charity’s mission and values. 

Sustainability often focuses on physical resources, but it also means working with other organizations to share as many solutions as possible in the most efficient and effective way. 

Water for Life Charity partners with aligned organizations to fund and distribute filters and wells to ensure that funds and resources go toward water projects instead of logistics. 

There are so many organizations that want to help share clean water around the world. 

Organizations and people who want to help are everywhere, even in your own city. Through networking and fundraising events held locally near our headquarters in Utah, USA, we have found numerous partners that are helping us end the world water crisis, one water filter and well at a time. 

Our organization has worked with ROAM Humanitarian for several years. While Water for Life Charity raises funds and orchestrates the education and acquisition of water systems, ROAM helps distribute water filters in numerous developing countries including Tanzania, Fiji, Nepal, and Bali, Indonesia. These distribution projects have shared clean, safe drinking water and the life changing opportunities clean water provides with hundreds of families. The Tanzania orphanage, school and community center well and water system will be one of many upcoming water projects carried out on ROAM humanitarian trips around the world. 

Water for Life Charity’s founder and President James Brown met the CEO of Storm Water Pros at a local Utah fundraiser event. Through their interest in clean water and water conservation, this chance meeting started an incredible opportunity for Water for Life Charity to gain an important corporate donor and for Storm Water Pros to give back to the global water community. 

Storm Water Pros works in drilling local water conservation wells and on water conservation initiatives in arid climates. Their passion for water conservation and sharing clean water resources naturally clicked with Water for Life Charity’s goal to share clean water resources with others. Storm Water Pros currently works on projects locally in the United States but hopes to expand these efforts in other arid, water-scarce areas around the world. Their Ripple Effect initiative acts as a way to participate in corporate social responsibility, while helping share clean water in developing countries that need it most.

Finding partnerships that are mutually beneficial for all organizations involved is possible and is happening with our partnership with Storm Water Pros and ROAM Humanitarian to drill this well in Tanzania.

Clean water scarcity

Despite being a basic human right, safe drinking water and water in general is a particularly scarce resource. 

According to the United Nations’ 2023 World Water Report, 2.2 billion people are without access to safely managed drinking water in their homes. And while some of these individuals can find clean water in grocery stores or in neighboring villages, the economic cost and time to access water is a constant challenge and impediment. Because women and girls are primarily responsible for water collection in most of these situations, they often must forgo school and work opportunities to walk hours to collect water, oftentimes a dangerous and exhausting trip. Two hundred million hours per day are spent by women and children collecting water.

While some communities and countries have hopes to improve their water situation through developments in infrastructure, many do not. Rural areas account for four out of five people who lack at least basic drinking water services. The people who most lack and need access to clean water are often the least likely to gain access to it from local infrastructure and government projects.

Water is becoming an increasingly scarce resource. Roughly half of the world’s population experiences severe water scarcity for at least part of the year. This water scarcity can happen for several months during dry seasons, or all year long. 

Current climate issues and population increases are only expected to make water scarcity issues even more severe.

Water is a global issue, and while it may not affect us all directly, it does affect us all. 

Water for Life Charity’s goal is to save lives, increase economic and educational opportunities, and improve health one water filter and well at a time. We have distributed over 35,000 VF100 water filters and helped drill 15 wells in over 24 developing countries around the world. 

Sharing clean water for the future

The United Nation’s sixth Sustainable Development Goal is to “ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all” people by 2030. We need everyone’s help to try and reach this life changing and life saving goal. 

Water for Life Charity is constantly seeking out individuals and organizations who are looking to make the world a better, healthier place through clean water. Our charity works with individuals and organizations to fund water projects. We then work with local community leaders to understand local water situations and needs and best improve them, while empowering communities to continue sustainable water practices. 

We need your help to share clean water with communities that need it most.
