Gaza water project update: Sending aid and hope

Helping displaced Palestinians in Gaza and the surrounding region is an ongoing water project at Water for Life Charity. 

This past week Water for Life Charity president and founder James Brown dropped off 381 pounds of medical supplies and water filters at the Utah Lifting Hands International warehouse. These supplies included a variety of necessities such as bandages and surgical supplies. These and other supplies will be shipped to the Gaza region by another partner organization Distribute Aid. 

As we’ve met in coordination meetings with global organizations working to get aid to displaced Palestinians, one question is raised again and again: what are the biggest needs in Gaza?

The answer is powerful and heartbreaking: everything is needed. 

Water, food, clothing, and medical and sanitation supplies are all extremely difficult to access in the Gaza Strip. In addition to these lifesaving supplies, however, individuals in Gaza and displaced Palestinians in the surrounding area are also in need of resources and supplies to help them live with dignity. The simple objects we so easily take for granted are exactly the things that lend hope in this tragic situation.

Our organization is proud to partner with other change makers and organizations to bring safe water and aid to the people who need it most. 

With your help, we’ve sent two batches of supplies to families in need in Gaza and the surrounding area. The first batch of VF100 water filter kits were sent directly to the Egyptian Red Crescent at the southern border with Gaza with our long-standing partner Backroads Foundation. This second round of supplies will ship out in upcoming weeks. With your continued help, we can continue to fund and send aid.

If Gaza borders are closed, our local partners will distribute aid to other displaced families in the region.
